Cheese Coffee

Yes, you read that title correctly. It seems that cheese coffee is a thing. In Finland, it is called kaffeost. They add cheese to their coffee made from reindeer milk. It’s also known as Finnish Squeaky Cheese or bread cheese. Now we have been putting dairy in our coffee for years, whether it be milk, half & half, or more recently butter.

The cheese is chopped into cubes and melts in the coffee becoming kind of like marshmallows in hot cocoa. The cheese can be made from goat or cow milk too. To get the right texture, the cheese will be curdled, baked, and dried.

This video shows the person cutting the cheese into cubes and making the coffee. You most likely won’t understand what she is saying.
