Jody wondered if there were any ideas for New Years resolutions regarding coffee. Here is what he found from

  1. Try something new. Whether it’s a new brew, a new roast, a new machine or grinder – switch it up.
  2. Watch your caffeine.
  3. Clean your machine. Make sure to follow manufacturer’s instructions.
  4. Get a new mug.
  5. Get ethical. Try products from smaller companies that offer organic, shade-grown, bird-friendly or fair-trade coffees or teas.

Point 2 about caffeine had Jody wondering “how much is too much?” Moderate doses are about 200 to 300 mg (about 2-4 cups brewed coffee a day) aren’t harmful. Heavier use may cause insomnia, nervousness, restlessness, irritability, stomach upset, fast heartbeat, muscle tremors
