Research has found that the best time is between 9:30 and 11:30 am. Steven Miller, writes on his blog, that is because of a concept called chronopharmacology. This is the “study of the interaction of biological rhythms and drug action.” One’s circadian clock, for instance, is one of these rhythms. In the early morning when you wake, cortisol is at a high – so you should have a higher level of alertness naturally. He says this could be why coffee drinkers crave stronger doses of caffeine. Cortisol spikes again around noon to 1:00 pm and yet again around 5:30-6:30 pm.
Have a great cuppa!
